CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, of the Flint Hills volunteers arrived at the Bowyer Community Building Wednesday night to receive a well-deserved thank you.
SOS and CASA of the Flint Hills held the first CASA Volunteer Appreciation Night where local residents were invited to speak with volunteers and learn how they themselves can become involved with the agency. CASA volunteers are local residents who give their time to advocate for children currently in the foster care system.
CASA Director Corina Sanchez says Wednesday’s celebration is well deserved given the large amount of work volunteers do on a regular basis.
At this time, CASA has just over 30 volunteers.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer CASA has its next training course beginning Jun. 8. For more information visit SOSKansas.com/CASA or call 620-343-2744.
