Summer activities are lined up on the calendar, including the Summer Arts Kickoff Party at the Emporia Arts Center on Monday.
Arts Center Director Dawn Young says it has been busy at the Arts Center, which is planning an official summer kickoff for the first time since 2019 after COVID canceled the last two kickoff events.
Snacks from Hostess will also be available.
Besides the activities, there will also be information about summer arts classes. Young says there will be eight weeks of themed activities from the week of June 7 to the week of Aug. 2.
Activities run from 5-7 pm at the Arts Center, 815 Commercial. The event is a come-and-go format. It’s free and open to the public.
