The David Traylor Zoo is pleased with its latest contest winners.
Over the past two months, the zoo has partnered with Trolley House Distillery and Twin Rivers Wine and Gourmet Shoppe to name a whiskey and wine cocktail. Zoo Director Lisa Keith unveiled the winners Tuesday on KVOE’s Morning Show — Monkey Maker for the whiskey cocktail and Tipsy Tamarin for the wine.
Sonny Barthold of Oklahoma City submitted the winning whiskey entry, with Emporian Bridget Burdan (ber-DAN) submitting the wine entry. Residents can now go to both locations and order the new cocktails, with all proceeds going back to the David Traylor Zoo. Keith says those funds are important.
This comes as the zoo continues construction work as part of the better than $4 million Oasis capital campaign. Keith says work on the Zoo Education Center will start this summer and wrap up next spring. Work on the parking lot will likely take place this summer.
