The annual Keep It a Safe Summer event is at the Lyon County Fairgrounds on Wednesday.
On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, Keep It a Safe Summer Taskforce Committee member John Koelsch said this is an easy way for families to get information about fun and safe activities the next few months.
Keep It a Safe Summer is returning to its pre-pandemic format after not being held in 2020 and turning into a drive-thru event last year. The event is open to families of school children in Lyon and Chase counties.
Keep It a Safe Summer goes from 5:30-7 pm at the Fairgrounds, including a number of booth vendors, giveaways and a fun run that’s part of the Emporia Recreation Commission’s Super Series. Hot dogs, apple slices and water will also be available. Scott Hayes will broadcast from KISS between 5-6:30 pm Wednesday.
