Both the Mission Valley baseball and softball teams won their first-round games in 2-1A State Tournament play Thursday.
The Mission Valley baseball team defeated Whitewater Remington 10-0. They will play Valley Falls in the semi-finals.
The other semi-final has Colony Crest playing Little River.
The Mission Valley softball team shut out Spearville 9-0.
They will play Ell-Saline in the semi-final today.
The other semi-final has Central Heights playing Troy.
The season came to an end for the Council Grove softball team. They were defeated by Rossville 12-0 Thursday.
