Community members are asked to take part in a peaceful demonstration against gun violence Friday.
Emporia State students have organized an event with the help of Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 students and two teachers dead.
The event begins at 5:30 pm at Kellogg Circle, with guest speakers including Emporia State senior Jack Anderson, Emporia State English professor and former Kansas poet laureate Kevin Rabas and Kansas 60th District House candidate Mic McGuire.
