Madison’s Bryson Turner picked up his 3rd medal and first gold medal by winning the 1A 100-meter dash Saturday. He won the race with a new state meet record time of 10.71 seconds.
Turner followed that up with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
Turner finished with 4 medals, he also placed 3rd in both the long jump and triple jump.
The Burlington boys 4 x 100 relay of Zane Hoback, Trey Faimon, Eric Pabon, Ty Anderson finished in 1st place.
Ty Anderson also finished in 1st place in the 200 meter dash.
Ty Anderson also finished with 4 medals he also placed 2nd in the long jump and triple jump.
Emporia Highs Kyle Obermeyer came home from the State High School Track and Field meet with a medal. The Spartan Junior finished in 6th place in the 110 hurdles with the exact same finish as last year.
26 medals were won by area athletes on day 2 for a total of 42 medals.
Lebos Abby Peek finished 5th Audrey Peek finished 7th in the pole vault.
Landon Boss of Osage City finished 6th in the Discus and 4th in the Shot put.
Burlington’s Karlie Whitworth placed 4th and Keely Hoback finished 8th in the 100 hurdles. Whitworth also finished in 3rd place in the 300 hurdles.
Lane Bartley of Waverly finished in 3rd place in the 110 hurdles.
Ethan Burton of Council Grove finished 3rd in the 100-meter dash.
Zane Hoback of Burlington finished in 8th place in the 100-meter dash and 6th in the long jump.
The Olpe boys 4 x800 relay of Jed Cole, Connor Kueser, Andon Temeyer, and Darren Heins finished in 5th place.
Jayce Brenner of Osage City finished in 8th place in the 1600-meter run.
