A health-related stream advisory for a stream south of Emporia is now over.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment rescinded the advisory for an area south of Road 107 and west of Road M after an unannounced amount of biosolid from the Emporia Waste Water Treatment Plant went into the stream after heavy rain in mid-May. The advisory was first issued May 19.
Water samples show no health risk for the stream, which connects to Coal Creek after rainfalls. KDHE says water contact in the river is deemed safe.
