The Emporia Public Library is diving into an ocean of imagination with the annual summer reading program.
The library hosted its official program kickoff Tuesday afternoon with games, crafts and plenty of books available for parents and children to explore. This is the first year the library was able to hold the kickoff in person since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Library Youth Services Coordinator Lori Heller says they are so happy to see the library full of young readers once again.
The theme for this year’s program is an “Ocean of Imagination” which Heller says is appropriate as they want to teach kids that there is no limit to how far their imaginations can take them. The program will run now through July and will include weekly concerts, storytimes for children, book discussions for adults and much more.
