It’s safe to say the Kansas City Royals’ offense was not hot in Cleveland.
The Royals lost all three games against the Guardians, losing the finale 4-0 Wednesday after dropping the prior games 8-3 and 7-3. Brad Keller had a decent outing, giving up four runs on six hits in six innings, but Royals hitters amassed seven hits — all singles — and struck out 15 times.
With Wednesday’s decision, the Royals have lost four straight and now have a record of 16-33. They are 13 games behind Minnesota for the lead in the American League Central after losing seven of the nine games on the recently-completed road trip to Arizona, Minnesota and Cleveland.
The Royals have Thursday off before beginning a three-game series at home against Houston. Brady Singer will start Friday. Game time is at 7:10 pm. Pregame will be at 6:30 pm on 14 KVOE and 96.9 FM.
