Parents who have children between the ages of 1-18 can take part in the USD 253 summer meals program, which is now underway.
Food Service Director Denise Kater says children do not need to be USD 253 students to benefit. Parents, meanwhile, do need to let program administrators know how many kids need meals — but they can do that on site.
Typically, meals are served at several schools, but this year’s meal sites are at Riverside and William Allen White because of ongoing construction across the district through the Building for the Future bond initiative.
Parents will get the day’s lunch and the next day’s breakfast.
Hours will be 11:30 am to 1 pm weekdays through July 29 except for July 4, when there will be no meals available because of the holiday.
