The New York Rangers scored the final four goals of the game and defeated Tampa Bay 6-2 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Tied 2-2 midway through the second period, the Rangers got two goals within six minutes to take the lead for good. The Rangers scored more goals in Game 1 of the Conference Finals than the Lightning allowed in a four-game sweep of Florida in the Conference Semifinals.
Game 2 is Friday in New York.
Meanwhile, Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals is Thursday evening in Denver. Colorado beat Edmonton 8-6 in Game 1 on Tuesday.
