May’s tax collections in Kansas topped estimates by almost 36 percent.

Individual income tax collections, at $518 million, were almost $200 million or 62 percent above projections. Corporate income tax and retail sales tax both beat estimates, while compensating use tax collections were lower than estimates but still higher than May 2021.
