Check-in is now underway for Unbound Gravel 2022.
Packet pickup started at 2 pm Thursday at the Lyon County History Center for riders in the Unbound XL, with that process resuming at 10 am Friday at the History Center for riders in other distances.
The Unbound XL launches at 3 pm Friday at Sixth and Mechanic, followed by the riders meeting for other distances at 4:30 pm at the Granada Theatre. Riders in all other Unbound distances will launch Saturday morning from downtown Emporia.
Close to 4,000 riders from around the world are expected for Unbound activities this week.
On Wednesday, the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame inducted its first class. On the list were Good Life Gravel Adventure founder Corey Godfrey; multiple-Unbound winners Dan Hughes and Rebecca Rusch; Almanzo 100 founder Chris Skogen; Trans Iowa founder Mark Stevenson, Mid South founder Bobby Wintle and Unbound administrator and Emporia native Kristi Mohn.
