The pending closure of Maynard Early Childhood Center is among the business ahead for the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education this week.
Board members may approve a resolution officially closing the school and starting consideration for sale proposals. The district is ending its time in the building with the Jones Center for Early Childhood Education virtually complete and ready for its official ribbon-cutting ceremony later this month.
There is quite a bit on Wednesday’s agenda:
*Board may approve meal prices and the fee schedule for the upcomnig school year.
*An emergency operations plan overview and a Safe and Secure Schools grant application will be considered separately
*An education redesign launch at Village Elementary will be considered
*Updates are planned for health insurance and worker’s compensation insurance
The meeting starts at 5:30 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert.
