A man convicted of leading law enforcement on two separate pursuits last year will be spending the next five years in prison.
Friday, Rolando Galindo was sentenced to 36 months in prison for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer as well as 12 months for flee and elude and 14 months for a separate count of flee and elude. The sentences stem from two separate chase incidents that occurred in August and December of last year.
Galindo was apprehended in August after leading Emporia Police on a chase across several blocks in Emporia before officers were able to use a tactical intervention maneuver to get the vehicle stopped in the 300 block of Weaver. In December, a pursuit developed when Emporia Police tried to serve a warrant on Galindo, but he apparently fled into north Lyon County and later east Lyon County, taking a woman with him, before he ran out of gas near Roads 180 and Y.
Galindo then barricaded himself in a house near that intersection for over an hour but was arrested without incident.
