The Kansas Highway Patrol says an Oklahoma woman died in Monday’s crash on the Kansas Turnpike near the Emporia service exit.
The Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Sacha McNack was northbound when her SUV went onto the right shoulder around noon. McNack overcorrected, sending the SUV off the highway into a ditch where it hit a tree and became engulfed in flames.
Three children referred to only by first names on the KHP crash log were listed as hospitalized afterward.
