The Emporia Juniors baseball team got its summer season off to a good start by winning the first game of a doubleheader against Andover on Wednesday and by leading the second game when it was suspended.
The Juniors won the first game 7-6, scoring one run in the bottom of the fifth to claim victory. Aiden Ewing had two hits for the Juniors, while Luke Marshall pitched 1.1 innings of relief to get the win.
The Juniors used a 9-run fifth in the second game to lead 15-5 after 5, but the game is listed as unfinished. No plans have been announced for finishing the game.
