A Lebo man was involved — but unhurt — in a wreck that sent five Colorado residents to a Topeka hospital for treatment Wednesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 9:45 pm on Interstate 70 near Maple Hill. A car driven by 28-year-old Jeremy Keith of Lakewood, Colorado, was eastbound and hit the trailer of a pickup driven by 68-year-old David Ruther of Lebo.
Keith and two passengers suffered minor injuries, while 34-year-old Christina Vogel and 6-year-old Xavier Shultz of Denver suffered potentially serious injuries. All five were taken to Stormont-Vail in Topeka for treatment. Troopers say Shultz’s car seat was not properly secured.
