(ESPN) The Los Angeles Rams signed wide receiver Cooper Kupp to a three-year, $80 million contract extension, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
The contract includes $75 million guaranteed and is worth $110 million over the five years of the deal, sources said. It’s the highest amount of guaranteed money ever given to an NFL wide receiver.
On Monday, the Rams reworked defensive tackle Aaron Donald’s contract to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Los Angeles also extended quarterback Matthew Stafford and signed linebacker Bobby Wagner and wide receiver Allen Robinson II this offseason.
Separately, Deshaun Watson’s legal troubles now extend to his former team. Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing all 24 women who have filed civil lawsuits against Deshaun Watson, said his law firm will “soon be joining the Houston Texans organization and others as defendants” in the lawsuits against the quarterback.
Watson signed a deal with Cleveland this past offseason. Though two grand juries in Texas declined to pursue criminal charges against Watson earlier this year, the NFL is investigating whether he violated its code of conduct.
