Close to $200,000 in federal grant money is going to SOS as part of two separate programs.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced the recipients of American Rescue Plan Act funds. SOS is getting over $113,000 as part of the COVID-19 Testing, Vaccines and Mobile Health Units Access Supplemental Grant for Domestic Violence program. SOS will also get over $70,000 through an ARPA program to support survivors of sexual assault.
Funding will bolster access to COVID-19 testing, vaccines and mobile health units. Funds will also help sexual assault support centers moving towards virtual or remote support services, thus increasing their ability to offer services to assault survivors. All told, almost $4.7 million is coming to Kansas sexual assault and domestic violence programs as part of these federal programs.
