Evergy customers have had power restored in northeast Lyon County after storms led to a significant outage Friday morning.
Around 4 am, storms triggered an expansive outage involving Admire, Miller and Reading in northeast Lyon County as well as some customers in western Osage County. At the height of the outage nearly 330 customers were left offline. The outage was fully restored after 4 pm. The bulk of the outage developed after five power poles were downed near Reading.
Additionally, storms also knocked down a number of tree limbs, including some estimated at 4-5 inches in diameter, and caused damage to at least one truckport along Kansas Highway 170 on the Lyon-Osage County line just outside Reading. A second shed was reported damaged outside Reading and a shed was destroyed just north of Lebo.

Storms early Friday generated a lot of power issues for residents in northeast Lyon County and parts of west Osage County.
Storms triggered an expansive power outage involving Admire, Miller and Reading shortly before 4 am. Evergy spokesperson Kaley Bohlen tells KVOE News the main trouble area is near Reading with five power poles downed.
Repair crews are on site, with additional staff traveling to the affected area. It may be 1 pm before the power is fully restored. Nearly 330 Evergy customers are offline in that area.
A separate outage developed around 9 am from Allen to just north of Americus and was cleared around 10 am. Another 240 Evergy customers are offline with that outage, and Bohlen says it was connected to the one in northeast Lyon County.
Scattered small-scale outages continue near Arvonia and Melvern Lake. Restoration times are pending.

7 am Friday: Nearly 330 Evergy customers without power in northeast Lyon, south Osage counties
Overnight thunderstorms caused a few issues across parts of the KVOE listening area.
Storms apparently caused a notable power outage affecting much of northeast Lyon County as well as part of southern Osage County. Close to 330 Evergy customers are currently offline. There is currently no timetable for Evergy to restore power.
Scattered small-scale outages continue in Coffey and Osage counties. A number of small tree limbs were also downed from Reading to Lebo.
