There has been another delay for officially opening the Project Playscape baseball field complex in Americus.
Weather had pushed the opening from mid-May to this past Saturday. The rainfall over the past month has now pushed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to July 30.
The plan has included two new ballfields instead of the previous one field. as well as new bleachers, lights, and a scoreboard. The project also has a new shelter house, renovated concessions and bathrooms and a new playground.
While fundraising continues for a new scoreboard at the ballfield, Project Playscape continues a separate funding effort to build a new splash pad and renovate the town’s existing outdoor basketball courts.
