The Emporia Senior Spartan baseball team team was 1-3 in the Sam Ellis Classic over the weekend.
Sunday they were shutout by Newton 12-0 and outscored by the Topeka Scrappers 13-2.
Saturday the Spartans lost to the Scrappers 14-6 and defeated Newton 9-7.
The Senior Spartans are 1-5 to start the season. Their next doubleheader will be on June 21st agaisnt Lebo.
