After grabbing an early lead the Kansas City Royals were unable to hold onto the lead and were outscored by the San Francisco Giants 6-2 Monday night.
The Royals scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning on a Whit Merrifield sacrifice fly and Bobby Witt Jr Single.
San Francisco would tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 2 runs on bases-loaded walks. Royals pitching would walk 9 batters tieing the season-high mark.
Royals manager Mike Matheny said there were too many free bases.
The Royals and Giants play again Tuesday night. Kris Bubic will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 8:45 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 8 pm.
The Royals made another roster move yesterday calling up right-handed pitcher Daniel Mengden. placing pitcher Joel Payamps on the injured list.
