Members of the National Teachers Hall of Fame’s 2020 and 2022 induction classes had some time to do the Chicken Dance on Thursday.
Dancing ensued as part of the Emporia Municipal Band’s weekly concert, which followed an active day for the inductees — including a visit with the Emporia State Board of Trustees and a crafts activity at White Auditorium’s Little Theater.
Friday is induction day. The banquet starts at 5 pm, with the formal induction ceremonies beginning at 7:30 pm at the Memorial Union Ballroom. Before the inductions, the National Memorial to Fallen Educators will be rededicated. That ceremony begins at 10 am and will be live-streamed on KVOE-TV at KVOE.com.
