The Kansas Board of Regents appear ready to name Emporia State University’s next president.
The board has called a special meeting at 10 am Wednesday inside the Memorial Union Preston Family Room for an official vote and likely announcement. The new president will be available for comment afterward.
Unlike past presidential searches, which have included finalist visits to campus for public interaction, this search has been closed. Neither the Regents nor the board’s appointed search committee has commented on the number or names of people considered as finalists for the post.
The Board of Regents has been either considering its process or actively searching for a new president since the departure of prior president Allison Garrett last fall. ESU alum and noted business leader Ken Hush has served as interim president since November.
We will have the announcement live at 10 am on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
