The David Traylor Zoo is welcoming all children and families to its annual Friends of the Zoo open house event this weekend.
Activities will take place throughout the zoo beginning at 1 pm Sunday afternoon. Zoo Director Lisa Keith says this is the one time a year when residents are able to go “behind the scenes.”
The zoo will also have games and activities, a bouncy house and other local departments and agencies on hand for the event. The open house is also an opportunity for anyone interested in joining the Emporia Friends of the Zoo to receive more information and possibly begin the membership process.
