For almost the past month, the Jones Aquatic Center has had just one of its main amenities — the pool — open to the public.
That changed Friday, and Supervisor Jennifer Wegener was relieved to open up the lazy river, slides and splash pad all in one shot.
On KVOE’s Morning Show on Monday, Wegener said supply issues forced the closure of the different amenities.
Wegener said there were lines to use the different reopened components Friday. Attendance has already been strong at the zero-entry pool, due in no small part to the hot weather the past three weeks.
With this being the Aquatic Center’s 20th anniversary season, Wegener says there will be a bike parade on the Fourth of July. The 20th anniversary birthday party will be July 30.
Operating hours are 1-6 pm daily through mid-August.
