The Kansas City Royals Monday traded Carlos Santana and cash to the Seattle Mariners for
right-handed pitchers Wyatt Mills and William Fleming. Mills goes to Omaha and Fleming to High A Quad Cities.
The Royals have also selected first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino from Omaha. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Ronald Bolaños has been designated for assignment.
Pasquantino had a .280 batting average with Triple-A Omaha, recording 18 home runs. He ranked among the Triple-A leaders in extra-base hits with 36, runs with 51, and has 67 RBI in 69 games, which ranks 2nd among all professional players, trailing only the Mets Pete Alonso, who has 69 RBI in 73 games.
