Following a decision at the federal level to expand the availability of COVID-19 vaccines to young children, CareArc says it now has doses available.
CareArc now has Moderna and Pfizer vaccines available for children ages 6 months to 5 years. Moderna shots will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while Pfizer vaccines will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Residents need to call 620-342-4864 to get their children scheduled.
This follows authorization by the Food and Drug Administration and final approval by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention earlier this month.
In separate but related news, CareArc also has free KN95 masks available while supplies last.
This comes as Lyon County continues modest caseload increases, either with its reports three times a week or on a weekly basis. Lyon County had 18 cases between Friday and Monday after 44 cases last week.
