Emporia State University has announced the selection of David Spafford as the next Athletic Director.
Spafford has spent the last 6 years as the Athletic Director at Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
He has also previously worked at Kansas State, Wichita State, Oklahoma State and UMKC.
Spafford said Emporia State has been in the back of his mind for a long time.
Spafford said he feels like he is coming to Emporia State at a good time.
Spafford says there is a good foundation to build on.
Spafford, a native of Belleville, Kansas, will begin his duties with Emporia State on July 17th.
Spafford will be a special guest on Saturday Morning Sports Talk this Saturday morning beginning at 8:10 am.
