A statewide Silver Alert continues for a Butler County man not seen since this past weekend.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding 71-year-old Joseph M Hayes of Towanda, who last called his family Sunday — possibly from the Dallas, Texas area.
Hayes apparently was on his way to visit family in Anniston, Alabama and never made it. Family members believe he got turned around in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. They suggested he return to Kansas, but he hasn’t been seen since.
When he left Towanda on June 20, he was driving a 2014 black Dodge Ram 1500 with the Kansas tag 576 HZW.
Hayes is 5-foot-8, 175 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair. Family members say Hayes has had a stroke, has high blood pressure and is displaying signs of dementia.
If you have seen Hayes, call your local law enforcement agency.
