The Emporia Junior Spartan baseball team was swept by the Topeka Senators Thursday night.
Topeka won the first game 12-4. Topeka used a 5-run 2nd inning and a 3-run 3rd inning to build a lead the Junior Spartans could not overcome.
Owen Ruge led the Spartans going 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and drove in 2 runs.
The Senators walked off with a 3-2 win in the 2nd game.
Topeka scored single runs in the 1st and 3rd innings. The Jr Spartans tied the game scoring 2 runs in the 4th on 2 errors.
The Senators scored the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th inning on a bases-loaded single.
The Junior Spartans will be off until July 11th when they host Newton.
