Back to Back home runs by Vinnie Pasquantino and Hunter Dozier carried the Kansas City Royals to a 3-1 win over the Detroit Tigers Friday night.
Pasquantino picked up his first major league hit, a home run in the 4th inning.
Pasquantinos’ home run was followed by Hunter Doziers’ 8th home run of the season.
The Royals scored their first run in the 3rd inning, Whit Merrifield scoring on an Andrew Benintendi single.
Brad Keller was the winning pitcher, going 6 innings giving up no runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Scott Barlow earned his 11th save.
The Royals and Tigers play again this afternoon Kris Bubic will be the starting pitcher with first pitch set for 3:10 pm.
The Royals made a roster move yesterday. They recalled right-handed pitcher Wyatt Mills, who they acquired from Seattle in the Carlos Santana trade, from Omaha and designated pitcher Matt Peacock for assignment.
