Chris Stanley’s bid to buy Plumb Place has been considered the “best and highest” offer for the property, according to court documents obtained by KVOE News.
Stanley’s bid goes before Lyon County District Court Judge Jeff Larson at 11 am Wednesday and outshone several other submitted bids, including publicized plans from Eli Fowler to use the space as apartments and temperature-controlled storage and Jarrod and Clarine Hibler’s idea of living in the home. Court documents listed Stanley’s potential purchase price of $240,000, above the asking price of $199,000, and did not list other bid amounts.
Court records also went through the bid process, which initially went through an open listing with all area realtors and generated no offers before the initial deadline of Dec. 16. There was an offer Dec. 17, which was subject to a building inspection and zoning approval — and did not result in a contract. Other offers with various contingency plans started coming to receiver Kevin Flott in April, and after additional advertising and media coverage, “numerous” offers — with varying contingency terms — came in for consideration. An unnamed purchaser who submitted a bid April 8 did not submit a revised contract during a 48-hour call clause, opening the door for Stanley’s bid to receive favor from Flott.
Proceeds from the sale are earmarked towards restarting the Plumb Place agency. Stanley plans to live in the home and then turn the remaining space into an Airbnb within the next 18 months if her bid is approved.
