After a relatively quiet fireworks sales and discharge window on the complaints front, there were quite a few calls to Lyon County Emergency Communications early Tuesday.
Dispatchers report almost 40 calls just between midnight and 5 am, well above the handful of calls reported Sunday night into Monday morning. There is currently no word of any citations issued, although that is a rare step for Emporia Police.
Fireworks are allowed between 10 am and 10 pm Tuesday and will be forbidden starting Wednesday.
