The Kansas City Royals walked off with a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians Friday night.
Michael A. Taylor singled to drive in Edward Olivares who was pinch-running for Vinnie Pasquantino who led off the inning with a double. It was Taylors’ 5th career walk-off hit.
The Royals were playing catch-up all night long.
Whit Merrifield hit a 2-run home run in the 8th inning to tie the game at 3. It was his 5th home run of the season and 3rd hit of the night.
Andrew Benintendi drove in Michael A. Taylor with a single in the 3rd inning to tie the game at 1.
Scott Barlow earned the win with a scoreless 9th.
Starter Brady Singer gave up 3 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks.
The Royals and Guardians play again this afternoon. Jonathan Heasley will be the starting pitcher with the first pitch set for 3:10 pm.
