Hot, sticky conditions return to the KVOE listening area Friday.
The heat and return of humidity have prompted heat advisories areawide from 1-8 pm Friday. Heat index readings could be anywhere from 103-109 with high temperatures approaching 100.
The National Weather Service says extreme heat and humidity will “significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses,” specifically for people working outdoors or taking part in outdoor events.
Be sure to wear light, loose-fitting clothes. Also, stay in air conditioning or a fan-cooled room if inside or shade if outdoors, and be sure to take frequent breaks.
