Once again, most school supplies are being handled for USD 253 Emporia students.
First United Methodist Church is teaming up with a range of individuals and community partners to donate school supplies for all students — pre-kindergarten through high school — for the upcoming school year. The only supplies parents will need to get for their children will be backpacks and a box of Kleenex.
School supplies will be delivered straight to each school before the first day of school Aug. 17.
As mentioned this past weekend, parents of USD 253 students need to apply for free or reduced status to avoid full-price meals after Congress did not extend the waivers in place throughout the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Parents can go online to www.ezmealapp.com to apply.
