The Kansas Judicial System is seeking nominations to fill a new magistrate judge position in Coffey County.
Nominees must be residents of Coffey County, both when they take office and while they hold the office. They must also be either a lawyer already admitted to practice law in Kansas or able to be certified within 18 months.
The deadline is Aug. 2, and nominations must be submitted by paper copy. The Fourth District Nominating Commission will interview nominees Aug. 16.
This new position is among several judge posts created earlier this year.
