More triple-digit heat is now expected across the KVOE listening area the next few days.
Monday’s forecast had Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday getting to 100 degrees or hotter with air temperatures. The current forecast has Tuesday reaching 100 — and after a 97-degree day Wednesday, air temperatures going to 100-plus from Thursday to at least Monday.
A heat advisory is currently in place areawide from 1-8 pm Tuesday but could easily be revisited. The only chance of rain in the current forecast is a slight chance Sunday night.
Be sure to wear light, loose-fitting clothes. Also, stay in air conditioning or a fan-cooled room if inside or shade if outdoors, and be sure to take frequent breaks. Also, be sure to check on children, elderly and pets to make sure they are handling the heat well.
