A year’s worth of probation was the sentence for a man who plead no contest to allegedly stealing items from the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
Wednesday morning, John Primeaux received 12 months of probation after pleading no contest in May to single counts of burglary and theft. Two counts of theft were dismissed at that time.
Primeaux’s sentence does carry an underlying 14-month prison term — eight months for burglary of a motor vehicle and six months for theft of a firearm — meaning any violation of his probation will result in jail time. Primeaux was set to be sentenced last Wednesday but failed to appear and was placed on the Lyon County Crime Stoppers Felony Friday list.
He was arrested shortly thereafter.
