Next week, several railroad crossings in east Emporia will be closed.
The city of Emporia says Burlington Northern Santa Fe plans to close crossings at Cottonwood, East, Exchange, Sylvan and Union. The closures will start Sunday and last through July 30.
Specifics about upcoming track maintenance at these crossings have not been announced.
