The rollout of a new website highlighting energy savings was timed well by the Kansas Corporation Commission.
The website, www.energysmartkansas.org, has several purposes, according to KCC Director of Public Relations Linda Berry.
Part of the website includes a virtual tour of a home and highlighted ways people can save energy on a regular basis. The website also includes information about utility investments and the economic impact of energy efficiency, as well as regional efforts to reduce emissions, costs and waste.
Berry says another key part of the website is a section simply called “Be Heard.” This lets people receive future updates on energy policy via email.
The website is a result of efforts by the Kansas Energy Office, KCC and US Department of Energy.
