The Emporia Senior Spartan Baseball team opened play in an end-of-season tournament in McPherson Wednesday. The Spartans were shut out by Hutchinson 5-0. The Spartans were shut out on 4 hits and stranded 6 baserunners.
For Coach Ryan Redeker there have been bright spots this season.
The Spartans will play again Thursday at 12:15 pm in an elimination game.
