Sentencing in a Lyon County kidnapping case will be coming at a later time following proceedings in Lyon County District Court Friday.
Lawrence Vaughn was scheduled to be sentenced Friday after a pair of alleged incidents that occurred this past fall. According to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office, Vaughn’s attorney withdrew from the case and Ty Wheeler was appointed as Vaughn’s new legal representation.
The case has now been continued, however, a new hearing date has yet to be announced.
Vaughn is facing a single count of kidnapping plus two each of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated burglary, robbery and criminal threat, as well as single counts of criminal deprivation of property and criminal damage.
Vaughn is accused of trying to stop the alleged victim’s breathing as part of separate incidents this past October and November. He is also accused of robbing the alleged victim of her cell phone in the second incident as well as gaining control of her vehicle without the alleged victim’s consent.
