Twin Rivers Junior Shooting Sports helped introduce young residents to all the great activities and opportunities that can be found in the great outdoors Saturday.
TRJSS hosted its second annual Everything Great Outdoors (EGO) event at Flinthills Mall. The expo-style event included interactive booths where children could practice shooting, archery, fishing and even get in some rounds of disc golf courtesy of Dynamic Discs.
Organizer Megan Hillbish says Saturday’s event was a great way to get children interested in the outdoors without having to take them too far out of their comfort zones.
Twin Rivers Junior Shooting Sports was founded 10 years ago and promotes participation in marksmanship as well as gun safety education for younger residents. The group fundraises year round to support a number of initiatives with the latest beneficiary being the Lyon County 4H BB gun team.
