It appears the chances of extreme heat are starting to fade.
High temperatures will be in the mid-90s for most of the KVOE listening area Sunday, a bit below the upper 90s expected Saturday, although Greenwood County is in a heat advisory until 8 pm with heat index readings as high as 103.
High temperatures will be in the mid-90s to mid-80s as the week progresses, and we have numerous chances of showers and storms beginning with a slight chance Sunday afternoon and a much better chance early Monday. Currently, the only severe weather risk comes Tuesday night with a marginal risk of hail and wind.
Saturday’s high was 103 with a peak heat index of 105. Friday’s high was 100 with a peak heat index of 107.
