CareArc has promoted a familiar face to a new role.
Tammy Black has been promoted to serve as the agency’s new medical director and brings more than 30 years of experience to the position. Black joined CareArc as a nurse practitioner in 2021 and has a wealth of knowledge in family, emergency and cardiac medicine.
Black is a graduate of Emporia State University where she attained her Bachelor’s of Science in nursing before moving on to Wichita State University where she earned a Master’s Degree in nursing.
Black stated in a recent news release, “I am very grateful for this opportunity at CareArc. I look forward to working with our administration, providers, and nursing staff to deliver the very best in healthcare to the patients we serve. Our team in the medical department has a top priority of ensuring caring, compassionate, and competent care. I plan to continue promoting an atmosphere that is focused on quality for the patient and growth for CareArc.”
Black’s promotion comes as CareArc announced it is planning to celebrate National Healthcare Week with a free physical clinic for local students next month.
The health center will be hosting a free back-to-school physical clinic Wednesday, Aug. 10 between 6 pm and 7:30 pm. The clinic will be overseen by CareArc physicians and will include both annual and sports physicals.
The clinic is open to all local students from kindergarten to 12th grade and will also include dental screenings and COVID-19 vaccinations. Students receiving a sports physical will need to turn in a completed and signed sports physical form which will be available at the event. Children also need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
